Christopher Peter Meloni (born Christopher Peter Meloni) is an American Actor, best known as a character on the well-known television series Law & Order Special Victims Unit. His passion for acting started when he was in college. He completed his acting studies at University of Colorado at Boulder. His characters in television have earned him plenty of attention. He's been able easily play characters from both sides of the law to grab an audience's attention. His first television show, he was the role of a serial killer. In later projects, he was the character of an NYPD detective. For his performances on small screens, he's been awarded multiple nominations for prestigious Emmy Awards as well as PRISM Awards. He is known for his blue-piercing eyes, which have become the trademark of his character and has helped him portray tough characters with charisma. People's magazine listed him as one of the Sexiest Men Alive for 2006.
