Amanda Brugel

Pointe Claire (February 27, 2010 - Toronto ON). Pointe Claire is a small neighborhood that is located in the West Island, which is an island in Montreal. People unfamiliar with the term frequently think that it's an island that's in the west of Montreal However, in reality the West Island is home to everything from the city of Lachine west. Amanda Brugel is said to have been born on the West Island, although it's not the case. Brugel grew-up in Courtice near Oshawa, Ontario. She initially wanted to pursue a career as an actress but after a sudden growth spurt her partners could no longer dance with her. According to an article by Toronto Star, she revealed that in heels she was six feet and one inches tall. Once I surpassed all my male partners and stopped dancing, I quit. Dancers who have been in the past often switch into acting. In the case of Brugel, it was a suggestion from her high school teacher in drama. Teacher who recommended she try getting a part in the the school's annual show. The teacher who suggested that she pursue a part the annual school production. When she was awarded the Fine Arts Talent Scholarship, she enrolled in York University and earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree in 2000. In the last 20 years, Brugel's roles on TV and the big screen have been varied. Her role as Rita from the award-winning show The Handmaid's Tale was her most memorable. Brugel was the sole Canadian actor on the show in Season 1 and was only seen on occasion.
